Novice/Beginner Diving

At STL Diving, we start with basic skills and build on those skills to create competent and confident divers.

Basic Skills Include:

  • Body Line:  Perfect posture and a strong abdominal core are essential for beginning divers.  Abdominal conditioning and practice with posture create beautiful lines for entry into the water.
  • Spatial Awareness:  Our divers start every workout with dryland training to ensure body awareness and correct technique before entering the water.
  • Skill Positions:  Every dive has a position, whether tuck, pike or straight.  At STL Diving, each position is learned and perfected during the novice diving workouts.
  • Competition:  One of the most important aspects of diving is learning to compete.  All novice divers will have a chance to compete in meets, to score points and learn the sport of diving.

Lesson tuition:

4 lessons per month - $85
8 lessons per month - $130
12 lessons per month - $170

Families with more than one diver per household will receive a 50% tuition discount each month. First diver pays full price, additional divers receive discounted tuition.

We recommend at least 8 lessons per month. If a diver selects just one lesson per week, skills generally need to be retaught each time they train.  Divers that participate in 8 lessons per month progress faster than divers with just four lessons.  If you aren't sure what is best for you or your child, please contact one of the coaches for assistance.

Junior Olympic/Elite Team

STL Diving competes on the national stage through USA Diving and the Amateur Athletic Union.  Our goal at STL Diving is to produce national caliber divers.  Our elite team practices upwards of 20 hours per week to achieve this goal.

Elite Team Tuition:

$280 per month

Families with more than one diver per household will receive a 50% tuition discount each month. First diver pays full price, additional divers receive discounted tuition.

Summer training schedule is currently 9:00a - 12:00p (Monday thru Friday); optional training from 6:00p - 7:30p (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

Details regarding team uniforms, meet fees, meet registration and other details will be discussed with each new family when they are invited to join the Elite Team.

Families with divers on the Elite Team are also responsible for travel fees for the coach(es) for each invitational meet that they attend. ALL divers (whether they attend or not) are responsible for summer travel fees to cover Zone, Regional and National Championship travel for the coach(es). Invitational fees are billed throughout the year. Championship travel fees will be due in late May or early June.
